Plastic Foams Impact on Human Health & the Environment

Plastic foam or Styrofoam, as it is often called, is one of the most harmful materials around for the environment. Not only is it made from carcinogenic materials such as benzene and styrene, it also pollutes the environment when it’s discarded.

Very few places recycle plastic foam, meaning that most of the plastic foams end up in landfills and in the ocean where it can be eaten by marine animals.
Luckily, many alternatives to plastic foam are available. We are determined to do our part in helping the environment and staying away from Styrofoam. We’d like to challenge everyone to do the same!
